Caught some spyware...removed it I think, hotmail no worky

After catching some nasty spyware stuff (adsearch2000 or some crap like that). I can't seem to get my hotmail to work now. I've tried IE, Netscape, and Firefox and none of them work. They all allow me to try and log it but it just hangs after I submit my name and password. Please help.

I am running through a router/switch to DSL but haven't changed any of those settings.

No other problems with ANY other sites? Especially those with Java functions? Sounds like it COULD be the Java Runtimes, but can't understand why it would be only hotmail... Do you have a yahoo/gmail account that you could test as well?

I could try with yahoo. I don't have a yahoo account. I guess I haven't been to too many other site, but your idea of Java Runtime problems could be right on. I wonder how to test and/or fix this Java Runtime problem.

I dunno, have you checked your Hosts file?
I'm running Windows 2000, so mine is located in
C:\Winnt\system32\drivers\etc

baaah, must be something with my router. My laptop doesn't work at home but works fine in the office. I'm not blocking any ports or anything. Wonder what's going on.
