Caught a fish!

If I am correct in assuming (from the seaweed on the dock) that you were fishing in salt water. And noticing that you live in NY, you were most likely fishing in the Atlantic I believe you caught a Sea Robin. A fish that I know from personal experience lives in the Atlantic off the coast of Jersey. It is usually thrown back or used as bait for other fish like fluke. And yes they are pretty weird looking. I have included a link to a photo of one caught at Coney Island did it look like that? Sea Robin

Yep, you're right...I mistook the eyes on top for the lumps catfish sometimes have on top their heads. I was assuming the eyes were further on the sides and couldn't be seen from that angle.

Good eye!
