- hot tea as a decongestant. Adding lemon and honey makes it go down easier for me

- echinacea. Buy a bottle of this stuff and gulp down a handful of pills (~6-8 at least) 3 times a day. That supercharges your immune system and gets you well, fast. At least it works for me. Hey, even if it's the placebo effect, it still works.

- valerian root if you have trouble sleeping
- zinc lozenges have a positive effect on many people. I can't stand the taste though.
- rest. lots of it.
- water. drink drink drink.
