Cat haters are just pansies, they need a dog to "care" about them.

You cant blame the animal because they were not properly cared for. Cats like people dont like to live in filth and they will refuse to use a litterbox if it gets too dirty

I say we put everyone who voted for the second option in a sack and toss them in the river and everyone who voted for the third option we make into chinese food.

It all depends on the cat.
My parents kitten loves to play and will hop up into your lap with a little "Prrt?" noise and then curls up to nap.
My cat is highly destructive (broke a vase, my cordless mouse, and a clock this week) to the point where I'm seriously considering getting one of those cages for when I leave her alone in the house.

got 2, well i'll say 3 since i do have a neighbor's cat that hang around all the time.

If I gotta have a pet, its a Cat FTW.
Currently we have a cat and a dog... and now I can confirm that a cat is the way to go.
Dog... killed grass in back yard, have to pick up doo, needs constant attention (almost), has to be let out every so often...so no extended trips without arranging a sitter, needs to be walked, will eat all the food you put in his bowl wether it be 1/2 cup or 4 pounds, chews on things, begs for food, steals food off tables and counters when were not looking, pees in the house, is more like having another kid....
Cat... goes potty in a box, only looks for occaisional attention/play time, can be left alone for weekends without supervision, only eats when it's hungry but is pickey about the food we give her, has no interest in "human" food...well except for Tuna, and the occaisional Cheese Puff (I don't get that either...but she eats 'em)...
Both shed like crazy...seemingly year round.
I know these traits are specific to the animals we have, but I figured I share my experience.
I have already stated to the family... once these pets are gone... No More Pets!!
