Cats In The Cradle

So I downloaded this song after reading about it in the saddest song thread, and it finally hit me tonight where I had heard it recently. Isn't the chorus of this song the song they play in Anchorman when Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate are in the animation scene?

Yeah it's such a great song. I heard it a looong time ago and I never knew what it was called, and then I downloaded it and recognized it, then I remembered hearing it somewhere recently, and out of nowhere I was humming it and it just hit me.

great song. that song has influenced me in my career path in relation to my children. no amount of money could take the place seeing my children grow up. they want you way more than a ps2, etc.

heh.

I remember hearing that song as a kid and promising myself that I'd have exactly that kind of crappy relationship with my dad when I was older.

I feel kinda guilty in retrospect.

Sadly, this is about how things turned out with me and my dad... we've got a few years left but things don't look likely to improve at all.

Still, nobody has answered my question, was the chorus of this what they played during that scene? It's not on the Anchorman soundtrack so I don't know where to figure out besides just asking.

Harry Chapin (God rest his soul) and his music sucked. Anything from Jim Croce or even Dan Fogelberg is better than his crapola.

Harry Chapin was a great story telling/folk musician. Croce and Fogelberg are apples and oranges compared to him imo.

Taxi's another cool song by him.

Even if you consider folk to be a seperate genre that Croce doesn't fit into, then Chapin still wasn't one of the better ones of the variety. Heck, Gordon Lightfoot did better work than Chapin did.

Find the live version from "Greatest Stories Live" I don't much care for his studio version, though I like Harry and love the song.
Here a sample here
