you give the little bastards food, water, and shelter, but what do you actually get in return?

yesterday, I had to run out the door in a hurry. I very politely asked him if he could please put the laundry on the bed away during the afternoon while I was at work. it wasn't much, just some jeans, socks, and towels.

this is what I came home to

for this expense, I may as well just put up a Craigslist ad looking for a live-in girlfriend to cook/clean.

I say kick the little layabout to the curb. Pets pull their weight around my house or else.

There are no signs of mice or rats in my house. I think the cats might have something to do with that maybe?

You could just, you know, not be a dirty person. I have never had a cat (very much dislike those smug little fucks!) and I have also never had any mice or rats in my house. But, I don't go leaving food and trash about, plus I remove my garbage to the can every day.

Obligatory "this is the only way you're getting some pussy" comment.

sometimes it's not entirely under your control :(

knock on wood, I've never had any issues in my current apartment, but the last place I lived was home to a couple mice. I thought I was pretty clean myself, but god knows what any of the neighbors were up to.

I never actually saw any, but there were two instances where I went away for the weekend with a wrapped-up loaf of bread on the counter, only to come home and find that mice had chewed through the plastic wrappers and big chunks were missing from the loaves.

bread/grains are typically the only food I'd leave out on the countertops, but after that I purchased glass containers for my bread, rice, and pasta. never had a run-in with a mouse after that, though I'm sure they were still hanging about the building since that landlord was shitty.

Well, I've always had a cat, so I just assumed that the cats are why there's no mice.

As far as food, yes, we don't leave food around, and the trash we take out on regular basis naturally.

My grandmother had mice in her home in Sturgeon Ba, Wisconsin. They liked to come in through the utility areas near the well and sump pumps under the house. She was a VERY clean person (as in, vacuumed every day ,scrubbed baseboards, etc.)

There is woods and wetlands across the street from my home, lots of mice live there. No matter how clean or dirty the house is, there are mice and such in the vicinity.

Better than babies--More work and money and they don't do anything useful either.

Cats generate like 9,001 watts of heat. They are portable space heaters that don't use much energy. :awe: They even double as an electric blanket at night.
