If it has that then sure..

High End Laptops with Dual link DVI on them will work. (lots of sager/clevo's do I beleive)

Most laptops sold in store will not unfortunately, unless it has a displayport. If you have a displayport, you may as well just buy the next model up Catleap with displayport as the DP to DL-DVI active adaptors are expensive.

HDMI will only work up to 1920x1200 on 99% of laptops out there.

Most laptops can power the resolution, even HD4000 would handle daily tasks fine, they just don't support the proper connection to do it.

Here's the winner : what model of laptop do you want to use? I'm guessing it won't work if it only has the iGPU.

Kind of a different application here, no laptops involved.

Have a buddy who is rebuilding his automotive service shop, he wants to use a few i3-based systems in the shop bays, for those applications the iGPU would be perfect (lower power consumption, one less part to buy, etc). However, he also has it in his head he wants catleaps scattered around, including on those machines.

So just wondering if there's an H77 or whatever motherboard (preferably mATX) that would have DVI-D output to run a catleap.

Nvidia 8400gs run them there like 30$ each lol.

I know but trying to avoid separate GPU.

Sorry for some reason I thought this was talking laptops!

I don't know of any boards with Dual Link DVI on the motherboard. Lots with Single Link....

I think you would need a board with displayport (lots of them) and a Catleap with displayport.
