Catholic Bishops gearing up for another round in the culture wars

Wait, did they really just argue that oppression is necessary to increase religious freedom?

Somewhat gotta love it, as the Roman Catholic church in an anathema for USA WASP values and beliefs.

JFK finally got us past the doctrine that a Catholic could never be US President, but in the USA, Catholics are still favored whipping boys to the Protestant dominated USA.

But if we look at the larger world, the Holy Roman church is still doing gangbuster business in most of the world, especially in Africa and South America.

Why should the Pope change his views, just for the USA?
