Hello,

After last weekend I found out that my work PC wont boot. Asus 390-P motherboard with 2x 256MB M.2 Adata SX8200 Pro Nvme in BIOS Raid 1 as a boot drive.

After extensive testing the Motherboard M.2 slots will not work. Both of them will not detect any new M.2 drive. Also the two M.2 Adata drives are not working after testing in two different new motherboards.

My conclusion is that somehow the motherboard fried the M.2 slots and both drives failed at the same time.

I have never ever seen this happen before. Any ideas on what could have happened? Is it even possible?

have you tested the drives on another PC or at least moved them out to a PCIe slot on an adapter?

Bent pins? Although, on Intel chipsets, the NVMe sockets are fed by the PCH, and not the CPU, traditionally.

How old is the PSU? Brand-name or generic?

Yeah i would suspect some kind of electrical damage, like others said psu specs would be nice. Full system specs and platforms you tried would also be helpful. Thank you, also as this point if you feel you have done your research, and due diligence, i would consider consulting a data recovery specialist.
