Catapult or Trebuchet?

Trebuchets are the superior siege weapon.

Though I always kind of liked catapults too for their simplicity. If I had to build a siege weapon on a whim I'd be tempted to build a catapult.

Trebuchet that shoots exploding rats?

Depends on what we're throwing...and how far. Basic catapult for smaller loads and shorter distances...but a trebuchet for the bigger stuff and longer distances.

Trebuchet cuz it's French.

A catapult is a mechanical arm. A trebuchet is a mechanical arm with a slingshot. In a battle of arm vs. arm with slingshot, we all know who wins.

Can always go all out, build a giant trebuchet that launches a smaller catapult, which then launches a mini ballista which launches an arrow that has exploding rats strapped to it.

Trebuchets are pretty cool, the way they function is really effective to shoot long-range projectiles. Catapults are handy for their mobility I guess. I'd got with trebuchets.
