So for the past couple of days I have been having trouble getting into Vista with the i7 setup. After some trouble shooting I found it to be the ATI drivers causing the problems. Using the 8.10, 8.11, and 8.11 X58 hotfix, when ever Vista is going to the desktop, my monitor stops receiving a signal. I have tried all three drivers with both a 4850 and 4870. Fresh install of Vista and fresh drivers create the same problems. Oddly though the drivers work fine in XP. Running Vista x86 w/ SP1 and latest updates. Another thing, tried running just the CPU test in XP since it was acting up there in Vista, the screen goes black and nothing seems to happen, but when I pushed the power button to shut down the PC, the logging off screen for XP showed up. Sys specs in sig.

i7? Color me jealous. However, I have had little to no success with catalyst and have used native Vista 64 drivers on my X1800XL since May 2007. I fought with them from January to May of 2007. <fwiw>
