catalyst and HDTV

I'm having trouble trying to get my Radeon X1800XT to output to a 1080i TV using the component outputs. I can set it up to display standard definition, but the max res it will do is 1024x768. How do I force it to display 1920x1080? CCC is not very user friendly.
