This happens about 50% of the time:

After I've upgraded to the final 7.1 drivers, I've been unable to run most games, mainly the ones with fullscreen enable (Oblivion for example). After the "Bethesda" logo, it seems like th e textures would get corrupted and the monitor would go out of sync and or I get a IRQL error and BSOD. What is the problem and how can I fix this. I've tried reinstalling the drivers and it didn't help.
 
This happened with my X1950 Pro the first 3 times i tried to load Oblivion on vista, but oddly stopped - so that isn't much help i assume
