Catalyst 5.1 not working

I installed the Catalyst 5.1 drivers, and they seem to work fine for a couple of minutes, but then whatever game I am playing will lock up, and I will get an error message stating that the VPU was reset because it was no longer responding to commands. I have had no problems with earlier versions, and have been using the same settings since 4.7 or so. My vid card is a Gigabyte X800 XT. I tried the new drivers with four games....Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault, Half-Life 2, Far Cry, and Men of Valor. Pretty much the same problem with each. Any suggestions?

Did you try Driver Cleaner and a reinstall of DirectX and your video card drivers (and maybe your MB/chipset drivers too)? Something might have gotten torqued up during the installation process.
