I guess the X800 People are rich people (pay 400$+ for a video card) who sleep early :p

They probably don't like the thought of installing beta drivers on their uber-expensive cards. It might give them bragging rights over the nVidia guys though.

I have an x800 pro, ive tryed to pipemod it by soldering it, i've cut the traces, basicly beat up the card, i run beta drivers np, but all of this is worthless without doom 3!!!!!!! No places around here are going to sell them to non preorder customers until tommorow. I think I'm gonna take my gf with me tonight before gamestop closes to see if she can talk them into selling one to her before they close =O

Well I soldered it for about 30 minutes lol, everything was connected beautifully. I go to benchmark at stock 475/450 in 3DMark03 and i got the most insane artifacts, that and I was only showing 12 pipes =(

Ah! Thanks. Sucks to be a 9800 Pro owner then. Maybe it's time for another upgrade. Guess I'll wait and see how well Doom 3 runs first.

Well, I don't have doom 3 and to bust to check all the stores. It's not in stock at newegg. All I can tell you, is I was getting 8200 on 3dmark03 (with artifacts sometimes) and now it runs perfectly, but scores 8050. When I get the game, I would love to bench it, and I will as soon as newegg gets it in !

:p

:D Speak it like it is brotha :p

Well to the thread double check and make sure you dont have to go into the drivers and enable anything, and make sure that something didn't get turned on by default and you just overlooked it. Also make sure that you bench at the same speeds and it doesn't reset by accident. 5-30% is a wide area im a bit skeptical.

That sucks, my 9700 Pro want's some 30% increase too.

They are...leaving us behind in favor of their new customers and products. :(

We are working very hard to get future drivers out that will add quite a bit to the performance of these.

They'll be back, as Arnold would say.

Dunno if they meant 9700Pro by that. Besides the upcoming OpenGL rewrite, I am not sure ATI could optomize the 9700Pro anymore.

You think you guys have it bad, I'm over here hoping my modded 9500PRO does good enough to be playable. I can't afford to go drop 200 on a 9800Pro and it wouldn't get me where I want to be anyway. I do have a 3GHz P4 though..... (for all the good it'll do me)

Here's some benchies a guy from sharky's did. Benchies

I am using 4.7 and hesitating if i should install 4.8 beta, now there is 4.9 beta,

does that 4.9beta have opengl rewritten especially for D3? and not only for newer cards like x800 series?

I have 9800P>xt, i see posts that anything slower than x800 only has less than 1fps gain which is no gain.
