Just a heads up - we will be posting logo certified Catalyst 13.1 on Wednesday. You can also expect new beta drivers in the next few weeks

I, for one, hope ToastyX's mods work on these and the release goes smoothly.

Good for HD7xxx owners as this or at least the beta will probably contain the fix for the microstutter issues

I myself would be surprised if these contain the fix, but if they do then you know what they said about rewriting the memory system was true. Eagerly anticipating the change log.

Probably will fix some of the low hanging fruit, but I wouldn't expect the new memory system.

I look forward to seeing the changelog.

In addition to fixing the micro-stuttering, I also hope they fix the random artifacts that are occurring in some more obscure titles. Then again, I was also hoping for that to be fixed in the last release... and the release before that... and the release before that. So maybe that's asking for too much.

any benefits for an HD6870?

Other than performance improvements/fixes for newer games, probably not really.

I just hope this will fix the DX9 artifact issues I been having ever since couple months ago.

Well that's good to hear. I always like me some new drivers.

Seems weird that when they announced the no more monthly drivers but more frequent Betas, we saw like 14 drivers in the course of a month to nothing for almost 3 months.

I'm going to say I'm glad I haven't seen this artifacting on my end, else my 7970 be on a table and the GTX 460 hauling ass.

I haven't had any DX9 issues with my 7950 either and I pretty much only play DX9 and DX8 games. Actually I'm hoping these drivers will have the DX9 performance improvements they promised were coming at some point. Maybe you guys could try submitting an issue form if the next batch of drivers still have artifacting.

Just curious, those of you seeing artifacts what is your card clocked at?

Mine is at factory settings (880 on 7950 I think?) and I would get this sometimes. I only ever experienced this in The Witcher but I don't think I have any other games running dx9.

Not expecting anything from 13.1 WHQL. It's likely 12.11 beta 11 with a Microsoft seal of approval on it; i.e. it'll probably be nothing new.

Good news that new betas are coming, though.

Maybe. AMD did say that they were going to address the microstutter issue soon though so that's the best guess in my opinion. Worst case is we'll see some kind of performance hit from them clearing up the stutter, but I don't think that will happen (or at least really hope that's not what we're looking forward to).

I'd imagine performance is only going to get better. I don't think AMD has had enough time to react to have any meaningful changes implemented in 13.1, though. They may have fixed minor things like the Borderlands buffer issue, but I can't imagine anything substantial.

Well what I'm thinking is that while it won't be substantial in performance (fps specifically), it will fix some of the lag that techreport documented. I haven't really seen many problems with this, especially since I keep vsync on, but to AMD and some consumers this is a big deal they need to fix.

Completely stock.

well, one of my 5000s (but I have to admit, I haven't really tested it much with different drivers under win8, only .10 and .11) still have some strange issues like mouse cursor corruption and some rare artifacts even though the card is 100% fine in furmark, occt, atitool and most things I tested, perhaps it can be some unusual hardware issue?

like this it could easily be mistaken for "bad drivers",

Drivers get blamed for everything. :D

I saw a recent poster who was having issues with one of his DP->DL DVI displays turning on from sleep (3-way Eyefinity). Everyone was going on about how that was a known bug with AMD and will they ever fix their drivers. Turned out there was a firmware update for his active adapter that fixed it.
