I havnt seen any benchmarks with these drivers. So post your experiences.

Dragon age 2 has stopped hanging, It would sometimes just hang out of no where for 5-6 seconds. This stopped it.

Well there are suppose to be 3 of these drivers. So I don't know if those improvements are for these drivers, the other 2 or all of them together.

Also, I looked at the AT review of the 6990 where the used 11.4 for the 6970/6950 and the 6970 is much closer to the 580 now and the 6950 is almost on par with the 570. Good improvements I say.

I think you can get some idea of the improvement by looking at today's 550Ti review:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4221/nvidias-gtx-550-ti-coming-up-short-at-150/10

Compare to the original review of the 6950/6970:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4061/amds-radeon-hd-6970-radeon-hd-6950/18

Very significant differences in many of the 6000-series cards - the 6950 now pulls ahead of the 5870 in BC2, and the 6970 is ahead of the 570. Also look at the astounding jump of the 5970. Is that a typo?!?

Here are some tests in Dirt 2:

Original 6000-series review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4061/amds-radeon-hd-6970-radeon-hd-6950/20

550Ti review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4221/nvidias-gtx-550-ti-coming-up-short-at-150/12

Again, some nice gains for the 6950/6970, and another unbelieveable gain for the 5970.

And here are some Crysis numbers, again with huge gains for the 5970:

Original review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4061/amds-radeon-hd-6970-radeon-hd-6950/13

550Ti review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4221/nvidias-gtx-550-ti-coming-up-short-at-150/5

Not all tests show differences, and the test setup indicates that different drivers were used - so maybe Anandtech just couldn't update all AMD numbers in time.

checks calendar... nope its not the 1st of April.
WTF!? 70% gains in Civ 5?
28% gains in Metro 2033? Wow.
50% gains in Unigine Engine O_O'

"Okay... howd you do it?" *nudges driver dude with elbow*
"found some error in your codeing that limited tesselation performance or something?"

*shakes head*

Man those guys working on the drivers are doing nice things.

Adding tessellation slider, Adding MLAA, Crossfire Scaleing up-age,
Keeping up with game releases, and constant driver updates with improvements.

AMD driver team have their act straight....I think.

Wow, those are some huge gains for the 5970 and some good gains for the other 6 series cards. Magic driver? 😛

Ha, ha, yeah...

Even some Civ5 improvements:

550Ti review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4221/nvidias-gtx-550-ti-coming-up-short-at-150/9

I noticed that the 6990 review also had the updated numbers, and the 11.4 preview was used for that test as well, so apparently these numbers have been around for about a week.

I have to add something about the crossfire profiles. They add games that are months away from release. F1 2010 had a profile before release, Fable 3 and NFS shift 2 already have profiles. Maybe that Billion dollars Intel gave them was put to good use.

Hmm, there were definitely some improvements in some games ... but when you advertise 70% increase in performance you'd better make sure your charts don't look like ... uh ... that.

That's quite the bold face lie from AMD ...

oh i get it!

when they say 70% in Civ5 they actually mean 70%, not 170% 😀

me and my 4850 will sit yet-another-driver-update out, but I'm eying a used 5870.

No it isn't, and you know it isn't. Why did you make that post?
