hopefully these will actually work on my rig. 10.6 and 10.7 were completely unusable on my win 7, 5870 cfx rig.

Is there a mobile version of this? I've been using 10.7 on my desktop, but had to go back to 10.4 on my laptop to get it to work with starcraft 2.

Hmmm... I'm real curious to hear if these will replace the 10.4's as the standard for BFBC2. 10.5, 10.6, and 10.7 all seem to have had some sort of issues with it.

Anxiously waiting...

I belive Catalyst is now 1 driver for both mobile and desktop cards.

Not 100% sure though

Can someone check for a fix of a bug that has been in the last few driver releases?

With ATI Overdrive turned on in CCC, the broken drivers will rev up your card's Core and Memory clocks (I have a 5770), even if you are idle. In earlier firmwares, if you are idle the current values stay very low like they are supposed to.

Did they fix that in 10.8?

Try them yourself?

That is the case, but if your laptop vendor has opted out of the program then you will still have to rely on the manufacturer for updates.

Good to see more solid gains this month from ATI.

Hmmm, I installed my bros 5770 while i was still using 10.7. I just installed 10.8 and CCC seems to think its still a 4870, 750mhz, 500mhz at idle, etc

but other programs say the clocks are running as they should be, 157mhz at idle.

With 10.7, I was getting 157/300 idle with Overdrive unchecked, and 400/1300 idle with Overdrive checked. I'm not clear from your post if that has been addressed.

For crossfire or for single cars too?

I think most of the probs were related to crossfire, but I thought I remember reading about various issues for single cards, too. Related to clockspeed increases at idle, and vsync issues...

Can anyone confirm if these fix the Borderland issues at all? 10.7a still freezes on me and I can't even play the game for longer than a few minutes.

Starcraft II AA, but not performance optimizations? Iirc, Nvidia cards are much faster in SC2.

Just checked it myself, it is still broke. To 10.4 I go.

I have a 5850, using 10.7 that does not occur. Just testing with a mild OC 780mhz core 1050 RAM, and the GPU still idles at 400mhz.

The core goes up to 400 regardless it seems (up from 157), but the Memory shoots up to the max custom setting while idle with all of the recent FWs, raising the temperature with it.

With FW 10.4, the core goes to 400, but at least the memory stays at 300, so the temps stay low until I do something that naturally raises it. What is your current value while idle for the memory with Overdrive checked?

Ah I see, RAM runs at full speed if it's OCed at all. Didn't seem to adversely affect temperatures so I didn't notice it, but I guess it is a little annoying if it's a bug.

upgraded from 10.6 and I did see some in game play improves playing dirt 2 but nothing to indicate any issues with single cards. Maybe try cleaning up your OS ?

what do you know.... These drivers are still broken for me using crossfire. Been borked for 3 straight months now... WTF!

Does anybody have a link to where i can voice my opinion to someone directly at ATi/AMD ?

This is complete and utter bullshit. 10.4 works fine, 10.5 works fine. 10.6, .7 and now .8 all have flickering in some games, well all the ones i have installed currently.

EDIT. For those who are wondering.... why update? because new drivers are supposed to bring improvements!
