I have a g5 dual 2.0.
I have a 1.5t hard drive, and want to organise all of the photos.

Iphoto, and most of the applications crash and limit on the amount of photos.
How do I organize all of the photos within the 1.5t?

I think a SQL database and a custom written application is the best and easiest way.

Writing your own software is the best and easiest? I'm a Linux user and I find that pretty hard to believe.

Well the platform is irrelevant but in either case would you rather start from scratch writing your own custom app or pick something like FSpot and just fix it to do what you want?

I really don't want to go that route.

Is there a photo software that I can use to scan all photos and I can organise????

Have you checked out Photo Mechanic? It is definitely a pro photog app. Give the demo a try and see if it works.

Might try the demo for Adobe Lightroom as well. Or Adobe Bridge, for that matter, if you have photoshop.
