CAT5 Tester, looking for suggestions

I am looking for something that works well, it doesn't need an LCD. I just want to be able to test cables to see if they work. I had an IDEAL LinkMaster but it would report incorrectly saying there was a miswire when it was perfectly fine.

Looking for something $60 or less. (I've seen the good fluke ones for $350, and I just find it a bit ridiculous for occasional use. )

Thanks, your suggestions are appreciated.

i currently have the ideal linkmaster. the only time it shows errors is a) the cable really is bad or b) the cable is crossover. The linkmaster doesn't understand crossover cables. Other than that, the only other issue is that I had to replace the battery after owning it for two years.
You might have just gotten a bad unit. See if it is under warranty and get it replaced.

Well, that .... or he really is pinning out the cables improperly .....

<pair><pair><pair><pair> is not a proper cable ....(for example).

The Fluke does TDR, wire map, tone generation, jack location, and port blink.

The whole kit is ~350.00 or so.

I like mine alot.

I believe it's well worth the cost if you do cable work with any regularity.
