Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of hiding my network cable in my living room. I bought the cable hider things and installed them against the wall to run the cat5 cable thru. My question is this:
Is there a right angle cat5 cable connector? like an adaptor the plugs into the wallbox so when i plug in the cat5 cable it makes it flush with the wall so it dont stick out as much and gives a cleaner flush against the wall look???? Please bear with me, i cannot explain this too well, im hoping someone out there knows what im talking about and can help.........

I've also searched all the online cable sites to no avail......thanks

never heard of such a thing. did you install mud rings or low voltage boxes, and are you looking for something that is like a standard faceplate?

I already have a cat5 faceplate. Im just talking about when you plug in the cat5 cable, it sticks out too far and have to bend the cable at a right angle to keep it flush against the wall. I'll post a pic here if i can find out how........

i have never seen one, but one idea might be to just get a cover with just a hole and put that there and connect the cable inside the box where it can't be seen (all you see is the cable going in.

I'm sure they make something similiar for cat
Good idea, but he already has the box/hole in the wall, so that would only take up more space. Those are made for places w/o boxes and where you don't want/can't put a hole in the wall like he has already.

check out his pic. he couldn't mount that on top of his box as is...

i dont know if this is a good idea or even if it will work, but what if you stripped the casing and had only the wires out long enought to fold back flush to the wall. i dont know if bending them like that would break them or not. if you get what im saying

The minimum bend radius for Category-Rated UTP cabling is ~ 4" diameter (2" radius).

If you put a 90 degree "kink" in the cable, and it's not designed for it, you'll lose performance.

there are jacks that offer a very downward angle. so that may help. They're sometimes called "angled" jacks.
