Cat was spayed 1 week ago, now she is a raging lunatic!!!

Is this normal? she was quiet for the few first days, obviously since she just had surgery, but now she is a lunatic running around and jumping on people as they walk by. She scratched my mom big time this morning. I don't know what to do to calm her down.....maybe the drugs from the surgery messed with her head?

:Q I am gonna get mine spayed in September, hopefuly mine won't run into symptoms like that.
 
my cat is nearly not as bad as you described. before the surgery she was just a normal and good kitten.. then after we got her she went into heat for 2 weeks and we took her for surgery which resulted in similar behavior you experienced but not as bad. She doesn't like to be held much and will scratch and bite usually.

That is strange. Usually, the cat mellows out once they've been fixed. I'd call the vet and let them know what's going on.
 
It sounds like your an a**hole who fixed their cat. Why don't you de-claw it as well? I hope the cat rips off your testivles and eats them for breakfast.

I hope you guys are just being smartasses. Given the huge number of unwanted kittens and puppies euthanized in this country every year spaying and neutering is something every responsible pet owner should do.
 
We had a cat neutered yesterday..he's been sleeping/resting/laying on the floor since then..poor guy.

Poor me, my cat got spayed and it never meowed right again. It sounds more like a screamapiller instead. The vet says the cat is in perfect health, but poor kitty, it can't meow right.

LOL, yes. A cat with no balls can't impregnate another cat. The lack of hormones normally produced by his balls also calm him down.

I'm not totally familiar with the procedure, but they usually just remove the cat's nuts or tie their tubes. They don't cut their penis off or anything like that. Female cats usually get their ovaries and uterus removed.

I'm not sure about the other poster, but I was being facetious. Declawing, on the other hand, I have very mixed feelings about and probably wouldn't do to my cat, if I had one.
