It's funny how (arguably) the smartest pet in existance can have some of the dumbest moments. I have one cat who I watched run full speed right into a wall. The hallway was maybe 4 feet away. Or the "I need love" reach as you walk by and they fall off the back of the couch. Nimble my ass...

Cats are awesome.

I do have a cat that when you smack her head with her tail a bit she will proceed to bite said tail, not hard enough to cause her pain but enough to hold it in place.

Evey time I try this, my cat will bite my hand not his tail.

I do admit I pretty much hate cats, yet there's no way you can say they are smarter than dogs. Ever seen a cat sniff for drugs, lead the blind, assist the military/police, or help save a boy from a well? I think not!

Nope, because they are too smart to allow themselves to be bossed around by their humans.

My cat will go to the neighbors where the dogs are on a chain and lay just out of reach of the them and not even pay attention to their barking. Yet they'll literally almost choke themselves to death trying to get to the cat. And they typically don't stop until the owner comes out. My cat does this pretty much daily, and without fail the dogs never get the fact they won't ever get the cat.

Yeah dogs are fucking geniuses.

You could get the same reaction out of a fat guy and a hot dog on a string on treadmill. Just because one dog is stupid doesn't mean they all are.

Dogs do things good that gets them rewards, like playing fetch and guiding blind people. Cat do things good that gets them scolded like jumping where they're not supposed to or ignoring you when you call. Some owners like different things, there's no best pet. They're all the best to their owners.
