Say what? How badly were you mauled? I've never heard of a full-grown cat that would accept being bathed. I tried it once...and barely escaped with my life!

I think cats are somewhat loyal, but not quite like dogs. If you forget to feed a dog for a couple of days he will not get up and leave. If you forget to feed that new cat you have taken in, he may run off after a few days with no food. Dogs are also pack animals so they develop 'bonds' with each other which I think makes them more loyal. Cats are more solitary in nature, but what animal would pass up food, water and shelter?
