At my dad's house, we have 3 cats:

gray cat - oldest male, full grown, 1.5 years old
white cat - youngest male, full grown, maybe a year old
black cat - only female, 6 months old, 1/2 the size of the males

(edit) - both males have been neutered

My sister took the black cat with her about 2 months ago. 2 days ago she brought the black cat back here in one of those travel things. The gray cat went nuts. It attacked my dad, my sister, tried to get to black cat, and then chased after the white cat. The gray cat has NEVER shown any aggression towards humans. My sister took the black cat away. The gray cat still attacks and hisses at me and my dad. Then out of no where it wants to play. Then is starts becoming aggressive. What is wrong with the cat? Is there anything that can be done. It is really freaking me out. Could the odor of the black cat be pissing the gray cat off? The white cat is not acting any different...

This could be a sexual response. What appears to be weird mood swings often turn out to be sexual behaviors in cats. The grey is male, white is male, black is female, so it's possible.

I would also guess on cat hormones. I had a female cat some ten years ago and when she had kittens she went beserk if she heard the slightest noise. She'd attack anything living; big dogs and humans she didn't care. Luckily she stopped after a while.
