Cat owners: Does your cat want water from anywhere but it's bowl?

My cat's funny. I can't go into the bathroom without her bowling me over to get to the sink. She will sit there and lap up the sink water getting her head soaked in the process. She could care less about her water bowls. Yes bowls, I have to leave a couple around the house because she is very picky about her water. Really strange animals. I guess they prefer running water.

She drank out of the Christmas tree pan when we had that in here... she'll lick the puddles left in the bathtub, yeah, most cats are like that.

Let it drink whatever it wants to; milk, bottled water, distilled water, liquor, beer, tap water, antifreeze...your kitty will be fine. Mwuahahahahha.

If the water in the bowls is a day old or older, the cats tend not to like it. I think they like the pine taste in the Christmas tree water.

Picky, huh? Don't give it any liquid for 96 hours then see how picky it is. It angers me when people spoil children or animals. It should be grateful for what it has, not picky. Try it MY WAY. Your cat will bend or it will break. Either way, you the HUMAN (you are the superior being, remember?) will win.

Cats like cold water, and it's almost always colder in the sink. I find leaving fresh water out in small cups works best, and especially if you leave the water on a table or sink, the two cats my mom has never really like drinking on the floor.

I feel sorry for your son if fresh water every day is "spoiling" him.

That's a good deal. I usually leave out a couple of plastic soup bowls and fill them with Brita water. Nice and cold. That keeps her happy. Nothing beats the sink water though. I want to build her a little fountain one day.

Talk to me when and if you have a son/daughter. Until then, STFU.

It's not like I give my cats Perrier you know. You ever clean out a cat's water dish after one day? It's all slimey and full of hair, that's why you give them fresh water every day. We have three cats and two large-ish water bowls (one on each floor back home), among the three of them they can dirty the water a lot in a day.

Grrr...somebody always misunderstands me when it comes to these sorts of things. Contrary to the typical pet owner, I differentiate b/t a human and an animal. They do not deserve the same care/rights/privelages/whatever.

My son gets fresh water every 48 hours. ;)

Hahaha, my kid gets treated like a little prince...that's half the problem, but that's another thread. Whatever. Carry on w/the kitty thread.

Wash, in a dishwasher if you got one, the cat's water bowl at least once a day and change the water three or four times a day.

Make your cat a chilled water bowl with a peltier and a 12v wall wart :)

Yes, my cat likes drinking all water. He'll drink from his bowl, but only when I'm not looking. When I am looking, he is drinking out of the sink, the dripping faucent, or our human drinking cups on the table. He even knocked over our Brita once and cracked it. When the kitchen sink is dripping, he will sit on the counter and just stare at it. I will try to post photos.

Get one of these.

Yeah, um...so the wife bought our cats one of these for Christmas. They would never drink out of their "ordinary" bowls and would constantly aggravate us to turn on the bathtub faucet and/or sink faucet.

This thing works like a charm.
