Cat is suddenly scared of me

My damn girl cat 🙂 The one I have had for YEARS, is so predictable...especially when it comes to time to eat.

She eats as soon as I wake up in the (VERY EARLY) morning, and again when I get home from work. It has been that way for the past 5 years or so.

This past week, however, things have changed. When I come out of the bedroom 1 or 2 AM, she is in my chair. When she sees me, she arches her back, hisses at me and runs out the sliding glass door...instead of what she USED to do, and that was run into the kitchen meowing her @55 off tripping me in her attempt to be fed as soon as possible.

Now...she is SCARED OF ME...and only me...not my wife.

Within the past 2 months here in Blythe, Ca. there have been 8 or 9 deaths in this SMALL town (that I can think of)...which is very odd in itself. 2 have been suicides and 3 murders, and rest heart attacks or accidents.

So...any ideas of what is going on here with my psychotic cat? Her age? It's NOT a full moon, so I can safely rule that out. I am just concerned. I laughingly told my wife to take a picture of me when I get up tomorrow morning...but I am kind of serious about it.

I personally knew 2 of the people that have died, but it's not like they were my family or CLOSE personal friends....but I think I am dealing with an entity/ghost.

Call me crazy and lock me away if you wish...and YES I am prepared for flames. 🙂

Maybe you sleepwalk and do bad things to her.

Has your appearance changed? Has your scent changed?

Why do you bring up the deaths in your area? That's not something I would normally associate with the behavior of my cat. Do you think there's some connection?

no to all. No appearance or scent change.

The cat and wife are BOTH fixed. Wife is in her 50's and the cat doesn't even knoe what a male cat Pee pee looks like...lol...JK. BUT, neither are pregnant to my knowledge.

I bring up all the deaths in the area because it is NOT normal. This is a small town, an 8 -9 + deaths is NOT normal. We do not live in LA or another big city.

I brought it up because I believe in ghosts, and IF something was "attached" to me...for whatever reason...animals can at least sense it...if not see it. Okay...NOW i sound like a looney...

As far as sleepwalking and sleepmurdering...all I can reply with is LMAO 🙂

The cat is obviously sensing that you are the next victim.
It is a well known and documented phenomenon.

The cat's having a midlife crisis, and now hates you. She expects the house, plus 3/4 of your paycheck for the years of dedicated service she's provided you. Once you're out of the house, she'll move her new owner in.

As disturbing as that is to me...I actually don't doubt that...even if not a "sincere" answer. I sincerely believe that animals are sensitive to things that we cannot see. She "knew" the last major earthquake (Easter Day 2010) was going to happen before we felt it.

It is ONLY in the morninga when I first come out of the bedroom, but she stays outside all morning till I leave for work, and she "slinks" past me as quick as possible to come in the house so she doesnt get locked outside.

Films will show us extremely realistic gore, but refuse to acknowledge morning breath.

Animals can sometimes be quite extraordinary, though.

My dog, as he grew old, became distant and aloof. But, in the days final before he passed, he was extremely affectionate. We thought nothing of it at the time, until he passed and realised that he had been unusually cuddly and affectionate, licking us and constantly requiring attention as if he was a puppy again. It all clicked after that, and broke the heart of everyone in our family as we soon realised that we didn't always acquiesce.

lol, good one 🙂 Hell, I'm a state employee, and can barely afford to feed her as it is now. MAJOR LOL at the "dedicated service"...like dragging her nasty @55 across the floor, or the throwing up???? 🙂

You believe that somehow a ghost has "attached" itself to you and that your cat can see and react to it and that is why your cat is scared of you....

But you LMAO at the idea of sleepwalking?

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Could be redirected aggression due to some sort of external stress (stray cat peeing in the yard, recent vet visit, etc.) That's very common in cats, though usually it's more towards other cats in the house and not humans.

When I come out of the bedroom, my wife is awake watching TV and on her computer. We do NOT sleep together in bed at the same time....haven't in YEARS.

So, THAT good Sir is why I am LMAO at sleepwalking. 🙂 She (wife) is awake, playing on her laptop and watching TV, and she sees me come out of the bedroom...wide awake just like the cat does.

I go to bed 7PM and am usuallyy awake by 1 or 2, and the wife normally goes to bed after I get up. Not normal I know, but it is what it is.

You have to chase the cat down when it does this, and then full on fart in its face, it will love you again after that.
