She may have deserved it, there are two sides to every story. What country is that?

I don't know what country that they are from, but obviously the the girl in purple was quite a distant from the crowd which suggested that she may not want a fight and was leaving.

IMHO, no one deserve a physical beating.

Well we'll have to agree to disagree on that.

Yeah, in the UK there's a difference between beating someone up and killing them.

So it's ok to beat someone with an inch of their life, possibly causing permanent injury or brain damage because they "deserve it" but its not ok to kill them when they're trying to beat or kill you?

Swing back to where I said "with an inch of their life" and quote it. [Side note: It's "within in inch...."] And I'm happy to continue this conversation

If it makes you feel better to correct my grammar I wouldn't want to take away the high point of your day.

Up to this point you haven't given a single qualifier on how much beating you think is ok, but you seem to have no problem with the video if the girl on the ground "deserved" it. That girl in white was kicking her in the head while she was down. Do you really think the attacker would have stopped because she was concerned that she was doing permanent damage?

In many ways an attack like that is much more violent than killing someone in self defense. The goal when you defend yourself is to make the threat stop. That girl doing the attacking in the video just wanted to inflict pain. What is more humane, trying to make an attack stop or trying to painfully torture and damage another person?

I would have, so I assume so, that being said not everyone is as morally aware as I am.

Pain is more humane that death. *Except in extreme cases.

You do realize that beating shown in the OP could have very easily caused permanent damage, right? Facial scarring, internal bleeding from the kicks to her stomach, a concussion from a kick to the head, all made worse because its doubtful they have access to advanced medical care.

It's obvious that you've never actually been in a fight. The last thing on your mind is the well being of the other person. If you cared you wouldn't be beating the daylights out of them.

So in your opinion its ok for a criminal to torture his victims, but not for his victims to take action to make sure he can't inflict large amounts of pain?

Yeah, sucks she better have really deserved it.

I've been in more than my fair share of fights.

Of course it's not OK, what made you think I thought torture is OK?! o_O

According to your statement pain is better than death. Following that reasoning it's better that the criminal gets away with torture than it is for his victims to defend themselves with lethal force.

I've been in more than my fair share of fights.

So you've never punched someone in the face? That can cause brain damage. You've never kicked someone in the stomach? That could cause internal bleeding and eventually lead to their death if untreated.

Yes, but that doesn't mean what the criminal does is OK...
