if you saw my arm right now youd understand the need for a claw trimmer. when kitty wants to play and i want to sleep i wake up with a bloody forearm. this is a quite cheaper alternative to having a vet declaw the little bastard.

Just be careful with this type - my vet advised me that she has seen a TON of people cut with this type of trimmer and actually declaw their cat or pup.

I used a regular fingernail clipper on my cat and it worked just fine. Course
she just sharpened them up again and she hated lying upside down when
I trimmed them, but that doesn't mean that a regular (cheap) clipper won't work.

You shouldn't teach your cat to use parts of your body for play. That's what toys are for.

I have no cat, but my sis do have 2 birds. Is there any bird trimmer? I mean.. bird claw trimmer? I don't like those birds but anyway, it's hers. I just have to stand the stinkin smell and the occation sh*t on the floor.

I use the same type of clipper on my amazon parrot. You just have to be reeeeeeal careful as if the bird bleeds, it could kill it. :(
