cat 6.5 help

I am setting up a computer for a friend and he just bought a connect3d x1600pro and set it up on a ecs rx480a motherboard.

It works with the default drivers on the cd it came with, but as soon as i install the new omega drivers (based on cat 6.5) or the official cat 6.5s, the card is no longer detected. Windows display options lists it as "default monitor on" (no, it doesnt say anything after the word "on").
Again, the card works fine with the default drivers, but I would like to run the latest drivers.

Umm..... did you restart the computer after the install?

reformat while windows is still new and you haven't done much yet, and dont install anything from the disk, download and install 6.5 right away if you want the new 6.5 drivers, or you can just stick with the drives on the cd...

Installing the drviers directly results in the setup telling me "no compatible device found"
