Hey all,

I have a short question, I have a bunch of cat 5e cables at 350mhz. Can I use these instead of cat 5 on my home network? Or do I need special equipment? Can I use them on hubs/routers along with cat 5? :)

KahunaHube, cat5e is a minor revision to the cat5 spec and as long as you're doing 10/100 they're interchangable. For gigabit, you need cat5e, but many cat5 cable plants conform to the newly defined specs in cat5e anyway.

N.B. "350MHz" is marketing and does not make a cable cat5e, cat6, or anything. cat5 and cat5e are specific EIA specs.
