cat 5 cable question

Is there such thing as cat 5 rated for exterior exposure? I want to do some networking and the only viable way would be on the exterior but I don't want to use normal cat 5 on the exterior. Wireless is not an option.

yeah, that thread is good. Plenum is what you need, but you may want to run it through some conduit. It doesn't have to be anything crazy, just some cheap plastic stuff you can get at Home Depot.

Plenum wouldn't offer anything better or worse. It's not outdoor rated either. Because of the intended use, there is not now, nor will there ever be, outdoor rated plenum cable...think about it.
