With everyone getting bigger, faster and stronger more injuries are bound to happen.

who the fuck cares about money generation?
especially when the money they generate just go right back into those incredible salaries or the owners pocket..

a fucking trashman is more credible more needed job than entertainers/athletes.

Now dont get me wrong I'm all for entertainment..
what I'm not all for the the way out of wack compensation that athletes and actors etc make..

he was complaining about teachers getting paid little and athletes getting paid super dollars.

athletes get paid so much because they generate so much money, much MUCH more money than a teacher does.

same with actors. next time you can work on a project for a year, being the center focus of it, and generate over 500 million dollars within a few weeks of the public being able to use your project (watch a movie), get back to me.

being a super star actor or super elite athlete is SHITLOADS harder than being a teacher. you train your entire life for it from when you begin to walk. it is year round work as well. not surprised most people on a tech forum don't understand what it is to play sports at a very high level and be extremely competitive while being a super athlete.

and i'm glad that that i don't live such a boring live as some of you on here who don't need entertainment in their lives. i enjoy my entertainment when i'm not at work or busy doing something else. i have no problems with the $$ they get paid because of how much money they generate. if anybody you should be mad at the owners, who are the ones paying them these salaries.

The difference is the world cannot live without teachers Doctors Scientists etc..
however we sure as fuck can do without overpaid overgrown children running around beating each other up for cash..
I dont care how hard they "work" working out and practicing is not working "hard"

any menial laborer job works prolly 150x as hard per year and doesn't get paid shit for their work..

yea and what your saying has absolutely nothing to do with why i posted in the first place. i never said the world doesn't need doctors or scientists at all. has absolutely 0 to do with what i was even talking about.

we're talking about salaries here and thats it. and elite athletes make as much as they do because there are so very few of them and they generate enormous amounts of money.

it really is the simple concept of supply and demand.

But it's not "nothing", your perceived value of it is just less than that of the people around you.

Maybe so, but again, they are being paid what the market dictates. It's simple capitalism.

I flat out don't know ANYONE that doesn't think this is out of control..
from the salaries to the ticket prices etc..

people tolerate it because they like the sport..
it doesn't make it any less true.

If all football games on TV became PPV and no more free national TV in order to support the players salaries I guarantee people wouldn't tolerate it..
Football games are already becoming an affair for only those with large amounts of disposable incomes.
when ticket prices keep climbing to support these outrageous salaries the basic fan gets booted out anyway as they can no longer afford to actually go to the game.

None of that matters. You have an issue with the amount they are being paid. They are being paid what the market dictates. People want to see them, so they pay money to see them. Companies know alot of people will be watching, so they pay alot of money to advertise to those people. there aren't many professional athletes and there is a huge demand for them, because people like to watch them whether or not you agree with them. Once again, they are being paid what the free market dictates. It's not really complicated.

If you become a superstar scientist you can potentially make millions of dollars, especially for private companies or selling books etc.. Same goes for very well known doctors, etc..

just about anyone can be a teacher or a doctor, its not that hard. not everyone can be a professional athlete. some people just got lucky and won the genetic lottery.

To be elite in most fields you are going to need genetic blessings. You cannot simply become a superstar athlete or physicist without hypernormal traits. However, I say that a great portion of success comes from will power and determination.

It sucks that they may not be properly compensated for their injuries in employment, but what happened to the money they made?

Also not everyone can become a doctor. Seats are limited and all that jazz.

Man you really are a moron. Pro Athletes bust their ass all year round. If they don't they end up washed out of the league as there is always someone else who's willing to do what it takes for the job. Hours of weight training and practice, hours studying film and the playbook and most of them play through injuries that'd have you and the rest of use sidelined for months.

Now I'm not going to argue with you over their compensation but one would have to be a real souless bastard not to have any sympathy for the plight of those who are incapacitated because of the injuries they suffere3d while playing.

Now dont get me wrong
Kind of hard to get you wrong when you made it obvious that you are a douchebag.
