Casual games to play with an Xbox pad?

Recommend me some games to play while sitting on the couch...I realize consoles are better for this but I don't want to get one when I already have a pc.

I'm playing Dead Space and it f'in rocks with a controller, and FYI, every time I show someone a game on my computer vs their console they get jealous because the detail/resolution is so much better.

Just look up xbox titles then find the port for PC. They all play great with a Microsoft Windows XBox style controller. Sports games are a given and all the popular titles are as well.

Mass Effect
Fear 1/2
Rainbow Six
Prince of Persia
Lost Planet 1/2
Star Wars Force Unleashed 1/2
The Sabatuer
Assisins Creed 1/2
Prototype
Mafia 1/2
Gears Of War
Rainbow Six
Splinter Cell
Tom Clancy's War
Halo 1/2/3
Borderlands
Any racing game you can think of
Any sports game you can think of

Braid works flawlessly with a 360 controller. Altitude is good fun too. Dead Rising 2 and Just Cause 2 both integrate perfectly with the controller. There are a ton of casual games on steam, Beat Hazard, Recetter, lots of others.

Edit: Oh and Super Meat Boy is awesome.

Braid being a port of an Xbox exclusive game is most definitely compatible with a gamepad.

Mass Effect doesn't support one on PC.

As for which game? Pretty much any game, except the few that don't support it. And the only games that are better on a console are the exclusives - as you can't play them on your PC! I have both a PC and an Xbox and there's no contest - PC all the way!

Assassin's Creed 1+2, Dead Space 1+2, Batman : AA, Borderlands, Darksiders, DeathSpank + ToV, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light to name a few 🙂 They all work very good with a game pad and offer a better experience - higher resolution graphics, high AA, high textures, 60FPS = win 😀

Any game is compatible if you use utilities (xpadder? I forget) to map keyboard keys onto the joystick.
This. I'm using a 3rd party wireless PS3 controller with the MotionJoy drivers in 360 controller emulation mode. I then use xpadder to map the buttons to keys and the right stick to the mouse. Works great to play Oblivion on my TV.

I decided to give a 3rd party wireless controller a try because it was only $30. Turns out it works much better than a regular PS3 controller with the MotionJoy drivers. MotionJoy thinks that it's just a wired controller, which eliminates the need for syncing the controller (can be a pain if you don't do it right) and bluetooth altogether.

I also recommend Braid and Super Meat Boy.

Also, Trine is another great casual side-scroller that is available on Steam.

Hmm some games I liked that didn't require any effort to use the 360 controller..

Altitude
Borderlands
Darksiders
Defense Grid
Just Cause 2
Left For Dead 1+2
Portal
Puzzle Quest 1+2

Course you can use the 360 controller on any game with xpadder, sometimes you gotta be tricky and assign mouse movement to analog but most times it's straight forward..

i just search steam for "controller enabled" and search through that. some games that do work with the controller aren't listed as such though. crysis for example

Street fighter 4, get 2 pads and some friends. A butt load of fun even on PC.
It's quite possibly the least casual-appropriate fighter I know of, and people looking to get into fighters properly won't get an old version of the game when an improved version is out on other platforms.

Ive been playing a game called Deathspank and Deathspank 2: Thongs of Virtue. I love these games, they both have great humor for a lightweight action / rpg type game

Batman: Arkham Asylum. I tried it with both kb/mouse and xbox controller and it was much better with the controller.

Well, he doesn't have an Xbox, so he wouldn't know what he is missing. Plus the game is real cheap. most of the games mentioned here aren't casual anyway.
