Apple has an event coming up Wednesday, September 9th, 2009: "It's only rock and roll, but we like it."

My predictions:

1. No mention of a Tablet (not until early 2010)
2. iPods with Cameras
3. Beatles on iTunes

How bout you? 😀

I really hope the ipods do not have cameras. If they do I will be stuck with my nano fattie forever.

No Tablet. Small bump up in computer hardware.

Touch and Nano to get cameras
Touch to get built in mic and perhaps a better speaker
Touch to get 3GS hardware upgrades
No tablet although someone will ask about it

I think the camera is pretty obvious given all the leaked pics....I think they may announce some new music subscription or new movie studio deal as well...in addition to the newfangled features that iTunes is supposedly going to have per the leaks last week.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that - "Cocktail" or whatever.

Probably something with a lot of marketing spin that, in reality, lags the industry. Cameras, eSata, right mouse button, something about Snow Leopard that actually adds value, etc 🙂

The only new iTunes I'd welcome is something that didn't completely blow. It takes a good 15 minutes to install on Windows. That's unacceptable.

itunes 9 with possible social networking stuff, and 64-bit for snow leopard 🙂

shuffle - either new colors and/or capacity bump to 8GB
nano - 16GB/32GB with camera
classic - 160GB+ with possible camera
touch - 3GS internals, mic, camera, 16GB/32GB/64GB, iphone os 3.0/3.1 already preloaded - touch always has something new that the current gen iphone lacks...last years 2G touch had nike + ipod and the higher capacity (32GB) compared to the iphone 3G, wonder what the 3G touch will have over the iphone 3GS...🙂

possible apple TV update

Well, they already had the 160GB Classic, before the existing generation there was the 80GB and the 160GB. They dropped both and now just have the 120GB.

Honestly, I don't know what they could possibly put out that would make me interested. I have 20 or so GB of music, and don't foresee that amount going up in the near future. So, my 30GB 5.5Gen iPod does the job just fine there. I mostly listen to my iPod when I am in my car or out working in the yard, so I need actual buttons. Again, my existing iPod works there.

I have an iPhone, so I don't need an Touch, I don't think my iPod is too big, and don't need to spend $200, so I don't need a new Nano, and I don't need 90GB of useless space on my iPod.

iPod Touch and iPhone HDD Edition! 160gb of storage! Haha, I wish.

Most likely iTunes 9 and iPods with a camera. The latter has already been heavily hinted at and seems to be the next logical step for the device. Possibly a larger screened Touch. I don't see the tablet being released. October/November at the earliest for that if at all in the near future.

One of the easiest trades is to buy Apple the week before an announcement or it's quarterly earnings statement....

My prediction is Apple will trade for +$175 on 9-9-09

It will likely then fall a bit after the announcement because of the lack of tablet.

Yep, buy on the rumor, sell on the news.

That's funny since the head of EMI flatly denied that they had reached a deal with Apple......unless he was just lying so it would be a surprise (who knows, if he confirmed maybe Jobs would have gone ballistic).

God help the man that gets on the wrong side of Jobs pre-announcement.

Here are my predictions:

* No tablet or "iPad" like device... yet
* Marginally better iPod's, with more storage on the flash models and cameras on everything but the shuffle.
* Steve will be there... just to finally prove that he's not dying.
* A new version of iTunes, which will sadly be even slower and more bloated than the last version 🙁
* Lots of praise for Snow Leopard , AKA Mac OS 10.5 Service Pack 1 🙂
* Apple's stock will drop... Probably $15 or more if either Steve doesn't show up, or Apple doesn't release something like the rumored tablet.

I am not so sure about that since multiple (I think?) research notes have come out saying that an announcement of a tablet before year-end is unlikely. However, Apple's stock may very well go down anyway because people always seem to be surprised that these ipod events deal with gasp, the ipods - and not much else.
