I just saw this movie on DVD. The movie was pretty good, but what kept me into it was Tom Hanks. That man is fvckin incredible. There is not a doubt in my mind that he is the greatest actor alive today.

yeah he is a cool actor. I didn't like Saving Private Ryan that much, but I loved his acting in it.

That's exactly it. You don't have to like the movie to be moved by it when Tom Hanks is the lead. He's that good.

Hmmm...Tom Hanks is OK, not really any better than the other heavyweights like Harrison Ford et. al. IMHO.
I thought Castaway sucked - WTF was up with the ending anyway??

I didn't really enjoy castaway too much. I thought it was well done, but I just didn't really get into it.

Hanks did a great job, I mean he is the only character on the screen for like at least half of the movie. Alot of actors would be totally incapable of holding the movie together for this long.

Maybe I was just expecting too much, but just really didn't think it was very entertaining.

I thought it was a great movie. Yes, the ending was pretty horrible and could have expanded, but we do not need another Titanic movie, now do we?

I liked the movie and the ending. I also agree with those that said Hanks did a good job. I wouldn't go so far as to say he is the best actor or the only one that could hold a movie together by himself but, he is damn good.
The ending, if they would have continued it any further (which is what I think some people wanted), it would have been total Hollywood crap cheese. Also, there is not way Hunt's character could have chosen to stay with him. see above reason.
