Is there a device or software that lets you put songs from a cassette onto the computer so that it can be burned onto a CD?
 
yeah, you just need a male>male stereo cable and plug in one end to the headphone jack on the cassette player, and one to the audio in jack in your PC.

Cool Edit, Sound Forge, Gold Wave, many others. Take a look around at Tucows for some freeware or shareware apps.
