Hi all,
I have a bunch of cassette tapes I need to convert to Mp3 format. I assume I need to plug my stereo into the line-in on my sound card, but from there I'm unsure of what to do. Any useful advice or websites?
Thx
Gary
Get a copy of Cool Edit 2000. Use that to record the cassettes to .wav files, and you can also use it to "clean up" the sound of the recordings if you are so inclined.
Just plug a line-level output from your stereo (or the line output from your cassette deck) into the line-in on your soundcard. Make sure to choose "line-in" as the recording source in your sound card volume control panel.
It's not very hard to do. A little practice with Cool Edit will go a long way to improve the quality of your dubs.
