Good deal on a 4.1mp digicam. I noticed it uses a Canon lens but mimics the bosy style of the Sony DSC-S85. It's a great deal but I have to live with my 3.3 for now. :(

Great Camera! and great price!!
Can we find a place with coupons that carries the camera and pricematch??? I've been searching, no luck yet.
Casio's 1-800 # says that all major electronics stores, including Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, Office Max, etc. carry their cameras. But none of the websites have ANY casio cameras on them.

It'd be badass if we could use the $50 off $250 OfficeDepot promotion with this price.

For another $80 dollars I think I prefer to buy the sony. Can't beat the battery life on a sony. But I do like that this camera uses compact flash. I also like the nice price for a newly released product.

Is this thing any good? I couldn't help notice that it uses AA batteries, which means that it probably eats them.

Certainly a nice deal on a 4.1MP camera, but these will come down further soon, I think.

DP Camera Review: "Kudos Casio, I don't know what you're doing but squeezing three and a half hours out of a set of NiMH AA's is amazing. As you can see the QV-4000 appears to have some of the best power management of any digital camera we've tested so far, lasting almost as long as Sony's Lithium-Ion powered DSC-S85. Excellent"

And it takes Compact Flash!

NOW SOMEONE FIND A PLACE TO PRICEMATCH!

I guess there isn't going to be any kind of pricematch/coupon deal. Doesn't seem like any of the major retailers carry Casio cameras...

not a bad camera,( I had it fotr a month) but the aggressive noise reduction used by casio (see dpreview.com review) takes away a LOT of detail away from the pictures.
It's a shame because it renders flesh tones very well.
Resolution isn't IMHO as good as on the QV3k for instance.

Here are some pictures I uploaded a few months ago, comparing the Optio 300, QV-3000 and QV-4000
QV4k comparison

Wasn't there a way to disable noise reduction w/ this model? I could be wrong :)

Heheheheh...."Live" with your 3.3mp camera :) I find that funny because 3.3mp makes photo quality 8x10's...the largest size picture that most people use. Unless you need to make 10x13's or higher, 4.1 mp is a waste. Your 3.3 is just fine :)

Exactly. Guess I'll just have to "live" with my Fuji Finepix 1400 1.4MP :(

while it's true that 3.3mp is more than enough for a 8x10, the reality is that the more recent cameras (i.e. with the higher pixel count) have benefitted from advances in the digital photography technology and are generally improved (chromatic aberration, color rendition, etc..). It would be great for Nikon, Minolta, Canon or Sony to release a 2 or 3 mp camera updated with all the advances, but...it doesn't necessarily make good marketing sense !
The exception to that is probably the Canon S30 camera that is really a 3mp version of the Canon G2 flagship.

You guys are costing me too much money. I ordered one. I'll let you know how good it is. I also ordered one of those Epson 780 photo printers a couple of weeks ago. Good thing I can at least write the camera off for work. lol

blah, depending on the pic, 2MP will get an a nice 8x10... i have one i got from shutterfly.. outdoor pic of a viper. very very nice :)

but i agree, the advancements of these higher MP camera's in a 2-3 MP one would be great.. that's all i really want....

Noise reduction is normally only for long exposures. The Olympus D-40, for example, turns it on when you're shooting at anything slower than a second.

Got my camera in today. Excellent quality. Constructed very well. I even got my $9.98 credited to Ebates already. lol - retail box it comes in says 16mb compact flash inside, there is really a 32mb one included. Now time to play.

is it your first digicam ?
Hope you like it, it's really good at rendering skin tones (special filter for that) but due to the over-aggressive noise reduction used by Casio, it displays much less detail than a 4mp camera should.

I own several SLR 35mm and 3 digital cameras. This thing has alot of features and takes really good photos. I 'll shoot a few after I read the instructions more and post them to my website.

Here are some flowers shot at 1600x1200 it's about 740k, so you better have cable or DLS
