Casio label printer + software + pens for $0.67, shipped

Yeah, to me, no deal is hot if it involves rebates. I have 15 rebates right now that are at least 3-5 weeks past due the 10-12 week max. I am so tired of calling all these stupid fulfillment centers and threatening the BBB.

BUT... these ARE microsoft rebates. They are usually REALLY, REALLY good with them. I got one of my rebates in 2 weeks after I sent it out.

good deal, but i just got a copy of encarta in order to get my $25 of free stuff at staples. This labeling thing looks good, but if i do it, will microsoft honor my rebate again? thanks

sory to post again, but i wanted to bring this thread back to the top since i really want to figure this out before the deal expires or sells out. thanks!

thanks, but on the rebate form, it says "one rebate per mailing adress" so since this the encarta deal is all part of the same microsoft $25 rebate promotion, would i actually get another rebate even if i already sent in one rebate?

does that make sense? i just want to make sure that microsoft will honor my rebate twice for the exact same version fo soffware. thanks!

Rebates = Suck

If a company really wants to discount the price, let them discount the price without a rebate. Everyone knows that they hope you will forget the rebate, or will tire trying. If everyone sent in the rebate for what they bought they could bankrupt the company. This is because the company must print up rebate stickers, hire people to handle the rebates, and then spend money on envelopes, postage and other offices supplies. Not cheap. The company knows that they will be keeping the money on many of the people. It's sort of a gamble, of who is smarter. It's not worth my time!

Using mail in rebates is a method where the company can send it to you or not based on how they feel. I've been screwed over one too many times on rebates so NO THANKS!

Don't see why MS won't honor 2 rebates from 2 seperate products.

But don't think this deal is worth shelling out $50 now and hoping that rebates will come through.

These are Microsoft rebates though, I would definitely go for them. Great experience with them in the past, all of them came back in 3 to 4 weeks. It would alway be nice if people gave away things for free without having to fill out the rebate form, but as most people do not give thigs away for nothing, rebates are the next best things.

I do rebates all the times, just keep a copy of the UPC and the receipt. They make money off people forgetting to send in the rebates. Now Anandtechies would not have that problem, would we? 🙂

I just got my label printer, encarta, etc... My local store (which fulfilled the online order) even knocked an extra $5 off the label printer... they crossed out the $29.98, wrote in $24.98 and put a smiley face next to it... even though the total was under $75, they honored the $25 coupon... this deal just gets better and better... too bad the label maker doesn't come with batteries or labels... ah well...

ok, thanks..but i have yet to get a definate answer....the rebates are not for 2 different products...the rebates are for 2 copies of Encarta 2000.....are you sure both will be honored? thanks again! (i know i sound like a worrywart)

FINALLY! a reply that sounds like it has some courage in his answer! thanks everyone...i am going to replaec encarta with streets & cities which is $4 after rebate and end up paying $4.67 for the whole lot...

ah6tyfour: I am pretty sure that MS won't honor 2 rebates for Encarta to the same address ... but if your "friend" buys the second copy, that's a different story 😉
