I found this great deal at Newegg.com. It is a SLR-like 5MP digital camera. Casio Exilim EXP-505 Pro Digital Camera.

Everyone else is selling at $399+ except some Brooklyn dealers. Newegg has it $100 dollars off from all other dealers. This is a very nice-built 5MP camera. Sucks for me that I have to pay for tax since I live in CA.

CASIO EX-P505 Black 5.0MP Digital Camera 1/2.5" CCD 2.0" LCD 5X Optical Zoom 8X Digital Zoom - Retail

You'd think a cam of this size would have 10x zoom.

But, anyone got one of these? Good / Bad? The lens looks nice... Costco has the 7.2MP on sale ... Smaller.

the casio has nice nice paper spec but i found it to be a very slow camera. slow on start up, slow taking pictures (from button press to actual capture) and slow between shots. nice still pictures but blurry motion pictures. motion pictures meaning people walking, yes walking outside in the sunlight.

i bought the nikon coolpix s3 from bhphoto for about $330.

For the money the DMC-FZ30 (and the FZ5 for that matter) are both what I would call better cameras; both are available from Dell from time to time with significant discounts.

I don't think there are many out there that consider this Casio to be much of a serious camera. It's a basic P&S.

If you want a P&S, you need to decide if you want tiny (in which case Casio's EX-S500 and EX-S750 are excellent, superthin choices), superzoom (Sony and Canon have good ones, in addition to the Panasonic mentioned above), compact (Canon A620 is one of the best) or, just jump to SLR (Canon DR XT and Nikon D50).
