It is not sold as a photo printer... duh... But a one or two color job isn't hard to accomplish - just takes time. It does put nice clean labeling on a disk that doesn't smear or come off easily or weigh enough to unbalance a disk. With some thought and planning you can do 4-quadrant printing like the Primera.
. This is 300dpi while its only direct competition, the Primera Signature Z1, is only 200dpi. The Primera can do good labels too, but it's not competitive price-wise after rebate on the Casio. Yes, thermal transfer printing is expensive relative to ink jet. But right now the only reasonably priced inkjet solution is Epson and I can't put up with their clogging problem. I can't imagine they haven't come up with a solution to this clogging which has been a constant problem since they went to the piezo effect heads. How many years has that been?
. If you want to wait, the new line of Canon Pixma printers coming along this summer is supposed to have disk printing on at least some models. The current Pixmas sold in U-rope [sic] already do disk printing. I guess they were the guinea pigs...
