Link

Casio Computer Co announced a new thermal copying printer with the codename "CD-R title printer CW-50", which will start selling from October 25th. The price would be 15,800 Yen ($135). The printer has 200dpi resolution and the interface is USB. It is possible that it will also work with DVD media (DVD-R/RW).

The ink ink ribbon cartridge has 4 colors (black, silver, blue) and the price of each ink would be around 700Yen ($6). The printing speed of the ink ribbon using only the black is 9.0mm/sec and with the other 3 colours 5.1mm/sec. Its dimensions are 180×187×57mm (width x depth x height) and the weight approximately 750g. The retail package includes, AC adapter, ink ribbon (black), CD-R media and WinCDR Trial Edition.

Cool printer! Much better than printing on annoying labels and then transferring the labels to CD's!

Still kinda pricey unless you plan to label quite a few CD's...

You know what my genius mind just produced?

A CDRW drive that prints on CDs!!! 😀

It would print burn on one side and print on the other, maybe even at the same time... All incorporated into a standard 5.25 inch bay. I'm telling you it's coming.

BTW, the content of this post is copyrighted, also patent pending, so don't try to steal my idea. And I'll slap you if you say it already exists.

Wait, I think I can one-up you.

A DVD-R drive that prints on the top side, and burns the bottom!

Damn I hope I can make it to the patent office before anyone else!! lol
