Thoughts? IMO many of the things he proposes would be detrimental to the fun factor. I feel that generic things detract from a game's character; I liked that you needed specific things from specific places to craft gear in EQ1, for example. I felt that generic drops (ie. world drops) in WoW were an example of this and detracted from the experience. I also liked the idea of being able to sell certain items when you no longer needed them; it made dropping a huge amount of money on that item you wanted so much easier to stomach, as you could sell it when done. <misty eyed> What I wouldn't give to have the East Commons market back... </misty eyed>. Barring extreme measures like what is proposed in the link, what are your thoughts on hindering sale of in-game money and items for real cash? Is it possible?
Note: If you are indifferent toward, or in favor of, sale of game money & items for real cash, it's really beyond the scope of this thread. While you're entitled to your opinion, it's another debate entirely. If you'd like to discuss it perhaps we could in another thread.
