Cashing out Fry's Gift Certificate

so i received a $100 fry's gift certificate for xmas but i really loathe fry's and their sh1tacular customer service. i was wondering if anyone knew if i could return the gift card for cash (i know other stores like costco let you do this... but then again other stores like costco know about customer service). i called my local frys and the moron on the phone told me "umm... uhhh.... maybe.... let me check <5 minute hold?.... ummm im back.... i dont know... you have to come to da store to find out".

because i know people are going to ask, no i wont give the gift certificate away.

no you can't.

and don't call fry's customer service. i used to work it, and we never really could answer any questions, but we could "take a message and have someone call you back." they'd rather you just come to the store.

i'd get "can you tell me if your 3 dollar surge protector is still in stock?" and NO ONE will ever pick up the phone for a 3 dollar item. maybe for a 3,000 dollar item so they can tack their names on to the sale...

Why do you need/care about customer service at Fry's? Do your own homework, and get what you need. I've gone to Fry's for at least 12 years now and have never really talked to any reps there at all..

I dont think you can unless you only hav ea few dollars left on your certificate - Then they'lll be nice enough to cash it for you (at least for me)

FRYS FTW

Yeah, you could try that. They make give you the change in cash. Especially if it's a gift certificate and not a gift card.
