Those of you interested in banking on the federal electric car tax credit and getting a free golf cart in return, might be in luck. According to the Wall Street Journal, the government will award anyone who purchases a street legal electric car with a nice $5,500 tax credit.
The prices for street legal golf carts usual start at around $8,000, but you might be able to get them for cheaper depending where you live. In any case, most golf cart retailers are pushing consumers to buy from them and take advantage of this amazing offer.
Apparently the Cash for Clunkers didn?t work out as well as they wanted, so the golf cart stimulus is their next hope. It?ll be interesting to see more golf carts on the road and the different mods people come up with.
