Cases with good harddrive mounting?

What are some cases that have good vibration control (rubber mountings or anything else for it). Preferable sideways mounted.

Window is a plus, but otherwise excess bling is bad. Preferably good air flow (120mm+ fans(mounts atleast I'll end up buying my own fans anyway)/nonblocked front intakes). Cases seem to be the hardest part to find what I'm looking for in a computer : (

The Coolermaster 690 has plastic HD racks that snap into place and is a great case for way less than $100. Cooling is great and meets all of your requirements (front intake with mesh, 5 120mm mounts, etc.)

It probably wouldn't be called a silent case, though. I've got 6 fans going in mine, however, and I'd say it is quiet by my standards. I could make it better with lower RPM fans, but I value performance. 🙂

Yea, I was going to recommend 690 as I built my friend's PC in it when it came out at newegg for only $30 at the time. Now it's about $100 (you'd be pressed to find it for under $80 now). SVC has the nvidia green edition with a side window for a bit more.

I have found that cases with rubber mounting actually end up causing more noise than the ones that don't 😕 Maybe if I actually tried the suspension technique with the Antec Solos....

I think the recent CM 590 has properly oriented drives with some kind of rubber for the drives. The Thermaltake Tsunami is basically the Antec SLK3000 done up in aluminum which also has front to rear with grommets. Sidesaddle drives in midtower cases are popular as they free up a bit more card space. But I agree about F to R giving better air flow. Some of the Silverstone cases have F to R with grommets. (KL01,-02, -03, etc.) The Rosewill R6A series is also the same as the SLK3000 inside, but no window is available. Also the Antec Nine Hundred. Lots around if you just look. The Antec SOLO has f to r trays with silicone grommets or bungees if you dare. And on and on...

.bh.

The SOLO is nice, and it can often be found at steep discounts, but it's a pretty tight case to work in and it doesn't have a window. It satisfies your other criteria though.
