Cases, Front I/O ports, and IrDA?

Hi.

I've been seeing more and more cases lately with front mounted ports. Which is cool. USB is almost
every where, and firewire, audio and even joyystick ports are relatively easy to find if you look hard
enough. If the case you like doesn't have them you can even get a module that will add them and
mount in a drive bay.

What I'm surprised about though is that I haven't been able to find even 1 case that has an infrared
transmitter/reciever built into the front of it that can be hooked up to the IrDA headers almost every
motherboard has these days. I would think this would be a great feature that people with laptops
would love. Just plunk down the laptop on the desk in front of the desktop and load/unload files etc.

Has anyone else seen any cases (or drive bay addins) with IrDA modules?

Hi. Thanks for the links.

The Ir Drive faceplate is interesting, but it seems a waste to use the whole bay for just
the IR. I was hoping for something that had USB, FireWire and/or audio ports also. Hmmm.

That add-on is by epox - Does that mean it only works with Epox MB's?? or is there enough
of a standard in this stuff that it'd be interchangable with other MB's?

I also looked at the directron link to the Fong Kai case... I could see the black spot in
the picture, but I was surprised that it wasn't listed in the description anywhere....
I'm still reading through the Manufacturer, and other review links Directron listed.

Thanks for the info!

It's sort of hidden

Rolled Inside Metal Edges. Infrared Len Cover. FCC Certifiable. Removable I/O shield. .8mm Construction

As far as the standard goes I don't have a clue. If you are handy with a dremel you could move it to the other unit and have everything in one
