I'm looking for a midtower case, that one has usually good quality power supplies on them and AMD approved. Good for being modded also. Looking for one that isnt to expensive either, whether it be on the net somewhere or not. I have heard the Antec cases are good, also seen a lot of modded enlights. Whats best for my buck????

I would say just get a case that you like (it looks cool) and get a known power supply (whether it's on the AMD list or not). Then....DRILL BABY, DRILL!!!

(For the record, I have the Antec SX830 with the Antec 300W power supply). I love it because of all the fan placements but it lacks a mobo tray--it is roomy but mobo trays are a very good thing. It's up to you though--will you be in the case a lot or not? If not, the SX830 is a definate thing to consider...retails for $99 at CompUSA and you can most likely find it for cheaper--pricewatch it.

:D

Yeah, I really think that modifying the case was a lot more fun that OCing the processor. My friend and I had hours of fun (about 7 hours). I think we did it the long and hard way but it was a lot of fun.

Regardless, that SX830, because of the 5 fan placements available before any drilling, it'll be enough to keep everything nice and cool provided you get fans that do a good job of pushing air.

Hmm, good question--you know I always ran it with the 5 fans from day 1...with a Delta on my heat sink too. Actually, the case seems to dampen sound fairly well...I mean, open my case up and you'll think you're in an airport but I don't mind...I'll just turn up my speakers if the sound gets to me. :D

No, but if sound is really a concern (more so than cooling)...probably consider something else...like those tin-can cases...they do a "natural" job of cooling so you don't need as my fans to help cool your system. Look at those if noise is a serious concern but get ready to spend more than you'd probably like to spend.

Have you seen the antec sx630 and sx635? They look like minie sx830s and it looks like they have the same amount of bays.

Stay away from Enlight cases. If you want something that cheap (as in price) yet high in quality, look at the InWin S500. Nice mid tower ATX case, I use this one a lot. InWin's case construction quality is among the best I have seen, and of very heavy gauge material as well. You have to go up in price considerably to beat it, say to an Addtronics/SuperMicro case.

Here's a killer O/C case - the Yeong Yang 5403. It is configured with a 120mm mount in front and another 120mm in back. Cheap too, about $55.

The Fong-Kai FK320 is nice. It has a cage for a 120mm intake in the front and a ducted 92mm fan exhaust in the rear. It looks great, and comes in black as well as the ever present beige.

I agree with Insane3D...The Fong Kai series is my default case of choice. I have used the 320 and all the 600 series cases and attest to the quietness and ability to increase air flow through them. As for the P/S, Fong Kai's come with AMD approved Sparkle 300Watt units. They cost a little more then the rest, but I think they are worth every penny...IMHO
