Hi,

I guess this is a "rookie" question.....

For cases that have doors...does that meant he door must be open when the computer is on? I notice that thare are some air holes to
get some ventilation inside on cases w/doors, but i don't know if it's enough?

thanks

If your case has a door and has front mounted fans, it's designed to be closed.
Don't worry about the case police if you happen to run the PC with the door open.

I typically don't like case doors that block off airflow but if that's the case, you bought a shitty case. If you bought a case that has been thought out (e.g. Lian Li), then you'll have no problem keeping the door closed.

I don't consider many LL cases to be particularly well thought out - but even their design mistakes are generally well executed... Most of their doors do have adequate venting for closed operation. I do like side and bottom door venting to help in keeping the noise from traveling directly to the user's ears. The Silverstone KL-03's door has better venting than the earlier KL-01, and it does seem to block some noise even though some of the venting is on the front.

The sides of the door are perforated, so you can close it without cutting off airflow.

I think most cases with doors are designed to have the door closed unless there is a need to access something.

Personally I hate them. My first two cases with doors were an Antec 1080AMG (freekin' 50 pound behemoth - empty) and an aluminum "alien" style Aspire case (back when they were some other name). I bumped the doors on both when they were open. Antec door broke off. The other one cut my leg and left me bleeding.
